The Cathedral
(letter 71)

My astral traveling takes place at a cathedral. Always at a cathedral. The first time I went to the cathedral, it was not on purpose. It was like I had opened my eyes and I was standing in this beautiful sanctuary. I didn't know what to do, so I just checked out the room I was in. I won't go into detail because it would take too long. But, I ended up seeing my ex-boyfriend there (at the time we were going out). He came through these double doors and looked at me. He spoke my name and that's when I came back to my body. The next day, he told me of this 'dream' he had and I told him that I had also been there.

That was the first time I was there. I have gone back to the cathedral many many times. I've been up both sets of stairs, onto the upstairs balcony, into most of the rooms in the front of the cathedral, and outside. I've also come across a group of monks who appear out of nowhere sometimes, which frightened me at first. I would also meet my now ex-boyfriend there and we would have these long discussions about things.

My friend wasn't the only one to go there. He has some friends who tried to get there and who made it too. (I also have a friend who got there) But for him....this is giong to be tough...we were going out over the net. All I know is that we could just get online and start our conversations right where we left them in the cathedral. That's all I could tell you.

I'll describe the main sanctuary to you and if I write a direction, pretend you're standing at the double doors.

The floor in the sanctuary is entirely black marble with white veins running through it. In front of "you" there are, I think seven, rows of pews with a red carpet with gold fringe running between the two sets of pews. The carpet leads to a platform which is as wide as the room. on the platform is a podium that matches the light wood color of the pews. It usually holds a page of sermons. Behind the podium is a table with a red velvet table cloth on it. The table has an empty bowl, two candles, and a large bowl full of water and rose petals. Behind the table is a huge metal creation. Its a very large statue of Jesus hanging on a cross made from cheap metals (its a hollow statue). There's suspension ropes that hold it up. (I'm not religious at all either)
At the front two corners of the platform, there are two very large, very white statues that I believe help hold the cathedral up. One is of a monk and one is of a nun. Both with Midevil style of dress.
To your left, you'd see three confession boxes. nothing is too special about these. Farther to your left, you'd see a darkened outlet with tiny stained glass windows. It's dark, but there's a door there. It's the same on the other side, except no stained glass windows.
To your right, there's nothing, but a triangle table in the corner with candles on it.
The whole room is in red velvet with dark wood accents. The ceiling is tiled, I think. There's angels all over the ceiling. It's quite spectacular. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling, producing the light source.
And, to your left, up a floor, there is a balcony or sorts. It is also done in red velvet and the marble floors. It has a balcony railing of the white--I'm guessing marble by the feel of it--marble. It has about four inlets--three or four--each one with pillows, a window seat, and a window. On the walls that divide the inlets, there is one painting. The only one that I've ever stopped to notice is of an Italian girl. Her back is towards the viewer, except for her head, which it turned to look at the viewer. There's rugs behind her and vases. At either end of the balcony, there are doorways with no doors.

That's it for the sanctuary part of the cathedral. Alot huh?

I did mention that my friend was there a few times. He has never been inside. He's always outside with the monks outdoors. He know's what it looks like outside and around the cathderal door (the door from the sanct. inlet).
